Whalan Maurice Dawson, 58, passed away October 21, 2021 in a local hospital. Born October 3, 1963 in Chattanooga, TN, he was employed by Yerbey Concrete & Construction.  He graduated from Howard High School class of 1981.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Sandra Dawson, sisters Bridgett and Cynthia Dawson and brother Ivan Dawson.

He is survived by his wife Tretta Dixon Dawson, stepfather Ronald Oliver, stepchildren Keosha Sydnor (Mailk) Norwood, Rysuan and Sean Ware, Jr., several grandchildren, brother Darryl L. Dawson, half-brother Cedric Shelton, sister Carol and Tawanna Dawson, mother-in-law Martha Blanks, sister-in-law Vanessa (Donald) Redder, Wilvett Dixson (Tim) Pope, brother-in-law Willie Dixon, Jr., several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be Saturday, October 30, 221 from 11AM until 1:00 PM at Bethel A M E Church 2000 Walker Ave with the funeral to follow.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
