Mr. Robert Earl Mathews AKA Robert Earl Finnell, Sr was born in Madison, AL on October 10, 1939, to Horton Mathews and Marie Clemons. He had 7 brothers and 11 sisters. He departed this life on March 15, 2021 in Chattanooga, TN.

In 1956 he joined the United States Army where he served for several years. He retired after 40 years as a security guard. Walking the local shopping malls and drinking Starbuck's coffee were some of his favorite activities. He loved his church and church members at City Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Pam Finnell, Tina Finnell, and Robbie Finnell, son, Robert Earl Finnell III, brother, H.D., sisters, Johnnie Mae, Mary Sue, and Anne Pearl, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
