IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamala
Williams
September 5, 1942 – September 8, 2019
Pamala Williams, 77, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, at a local hospital.
In God's providence, Pamala was raised by her paternal grandparents, Dewey and Corrine Jackson, father of Oliver "Buster" Jackson in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother, Elma and brother, Robert, preceded her in death.
She came to Chattanooga in 1975 with her friend, Linda White, a sister from another mother, to obtain a teaching degree at UTC.
Her "New City Fellowship choir-fan-dom-ship" originated in the early 80's when a friend heard a Carl Ellis interview on WMBW. They went to a Sunday morning service at the "Y". It was there Pamala fell in love with the singing and became a "groupie".
However, it wasn't until 1989 that she fully immersed herself into the fellowship of New City and became a member. During that time, God asked her to truly trust Him at a missionary conference called "Destiny". She was to accept His guidance no matter what or wherever He sent her. On December 17, 1993, He gave her a beautiful baby boy, Tony Samuel, Samuel meaning "Because I asked the LORD for him". And she immersed herself in NCF activities ever since.
