Patterson
November 10, 1937 – May 31, 2024
George Edward Patterson was born on November 10, 1937, to the late Ben and Louise
Patterson in Uniontown, Alabama. He was the fourth of nine children.
He moved to Chattanooga in July 1956, where he met and married Ada Pearl Jackson. He
worked at Rock Tennessee Paper Mill and retired fifty-five years later. He also was a part-time
carpenter. He was a hard worker and a great provider. He is the father of four daughters.
George committed his life to Christ and became a dedicated member of New Anointing Pure
Holiness Church of God. George was a quiet and generous man who had great love for his
family. He had a close relationship with his siblings and an awesome bond with his brothers.
There was much love and respect between them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Louise Patterson; grandson, Christopher
Thomas Bell; niece, Vivian Patterson; nephews, Jesse and Lewis Patterson; sisters, Emma
Patterson, Geraldine Norman, and Maria Mcllwain.
He is survived by his daughters, Greta (Michael) Long, Valerie Patterson, Dethrice (Thomas)
Bell, and Donna (Gregory) Cole-Joiner; brothers, Henry (Annie Mae) Patterson, Ben (Mia)
Patterson, James (Jeanette) Patterson, and John (Mary) Patterson; nine grandchildren,
eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
New Anointing family, and friends.
