PRECIOUS MEMORIES
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."— 2 Timothy 4:7
With loving hearts and fond memories, we celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Eva Jo Richardson, who transcended into celestial peace on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Eva Jo was born on September 28, 1950, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Mr. Earnest Vaughn, Sr. and Mrs. Sarah (Edwards) Vaughn. She was one of four children born into this loving family.
Eva Jo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Richardson, Sr., her brothers, Earnest Vaughn, Jr. and Tommy Lee Vaughn, and her sister, JudyVaughn.
At an early age, Eva Jo accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and devoted member until failing health. She served diligently on the Usher Ministry and was also a former Sunday School teacher, sharing the Word of God and helping nurture the faith of others. Her welcoming smile and gentle spirit made all who entered feel at home in the house of the Lord.
Eva Jo received her education in the Chattanooga Public Schools and proudly graduated from Riverside High School, Class of 1968. She later entered the workforce where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Over the years she was employed by Provident, Parkridge Hospital, and Alexian Brothers, where she served faithfully and earned the respect of colleagues and friends.
Eva Jo was known for her warm heart and pleasant disposition. She was a congenial and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She cherished her family and treasured the many relationships that enriched her life. Her kindness, quiet strength, and loving spirit touched all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories her devoted son, Darrell Richardson, Jr.; her beloved grandson, Darius Richardson; Darius’ mother, Trina Parker; four nephews; along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends whose lives were blessed by her presence.
Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she now rests peacefully in the loving care of our Heavenly Father.
“Our Creator saw you were getting weary
So He did what He thought was best;He came and stood beside youAnd whispered, “Come, and rest.”
You bade no one a last farewell,No, not even a “goodbye.”You were gone before we knew it,And only our Creator knows why.
REST IN PEACE…..
