Bobby Bates, 84, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at healthcare facility.  Services are pending at this time.

Willie James Scruggs also known as Bobby Bates transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday morning, September 6, 2020. Willie passed at the age of 80, unexpectedly at Standifer Place living facility. Willie was a long time member and a loyal deacon at Gospel Lighthouse Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed baseball as a past time and loved spending time with family and friends. Willie James Scruggs was a skilled carpenter and a employee at Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home for over 30 years.

Willie is survived by his children Zachary J Scruggs (Janet Scales-Scruggs), Lizzie K. Scruggs of  Philadelphia, PA, Annette Scruggs-Moore of Chattanooga, TN lives in Tallassee, AL, grandchildren Terry Scruggs, Paulette M. Scruggs, Maurico Scruggs, Martresn A Scruggs, Markiesha M Scruggs, Maurica Scruggs Jr., Jasmime D Srcuggs, 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Troop James Cunningham, officer Maples, Johnny Ricks and Cynthia Ricks of Tallassee, AL friends of the family.
